Asap Rocky, born Rakim Mayers, is on trial for assault is currently ongoing in Los Angeles. He’s currently facing 2 accounts of felonious assault with a firearm.
These charges all stem from a incident in November of 2021 between Rocky & another A$ap Mob member, Terell Ephron aka A$ap Relli.
Relli claims he was involved in a shooting in which Rocky allegedly shot at & struck him, grazing his knuckle. Rocky has pleaded not guilty to these alleged charges.
With no real physical evidence, the prosecution’s case relies heavily on Ephron’s testimony, being that no physical evidence has directly linked Rocky to the assault. Surveillance footage revealed a man in a hoodie, identified by investigators as Rocky, holding what could appear to be a gun.
The initial plea agreement was offered to Rocky was a deal of one year in county jail in exchange for pleading guilty to a single assault charge.
Rocky has reportedly rejected the offer, maintaining his innocence and choosing to proceed with the trial, stating”I respectfully decline, Thank you”. If convicted on both charges, he faces a potential sentence of up to 24 years in prison.
